I have bought and used at least 3 of these in different locations.The product is intended for, and clearly labeled as for, OTA use.Not cable, not satellite, not internet - just broadcast over the air television.If you have long runs or even just need to distribute to multiple TVs, this is the one for you.Hence the name "distribution amplifier."It is NOT for boosting distant signals, for that you might try an antenna pre-amp or larger antenna.
It is simple, to the point and has always worked well for me for years.None of mine have ever failed, even when installed in a hot attic.I suspect any defective units would fail fairly quickly, so you could return for a refund.
I trust the brand name Channel Master and buy antennas and related products under that name whenever possible.
