I did not expect much from this antenna, I got it simply because it was the only option in my application. I installed it in the body of my '23 T street rod behind the seat about 20' from vertical. In a metro area with lots of stations, it has no problem picking up whatever I want with little interference. Despite the low mount, unshielded hot rod ignition, and everything working against it, it performs quite well. It also seems sensitive enough to pick up distant stations when traveling.

TRAM NH-4-M5-HC Base-Loaded 5- Inch Magnet-Mount CB Antenna Review

ok performance, but the protective layer is not put on completely centered leaving exposed metal (I have recieved 2). I got a number of scratches on my trunk. I believe that I will order a k30 or k40. I am using some electrical tape to provide protection in the interim, hopefully the adhesive doesn't run in the sun.

You need to get a mirror mount for it or a magnet mount that will support it. A good quality 5 inch magnet mount. Easy to adjust and match the anntenna to the transmitter. Monster Cable MSR-ANT-HM Sirius Home Antenna Review

I had been searching for something to help with my poor Sirius reception at home. I was very excited when I found the Monster Cable MSR-ANT-HM Sirius Home Antenna, it seemed like the perfect answer. It wasn't. The bottom line is it is exactly the same as my stock "non-premium" antenna. Same size, same reception. I had 3 bars signal strength with my old antenna and 3 bars with my Monster antenna. The only difference is the word "Monster" on the front. If you are looking for help with poor reception I suggest you look elsewhere, this antenna is NOT the answer.

American International XM-2SAA XM Roof-Mount Antenna Review

This is a universal satellite radio antenna (universal in the sense it will work with either Sirius or XM satellite car radios).

I had to replace my antenna for my Sirius satellite radio as the cord had cracked and was no longer acquiring a signal. This XM version was the only one available at the store I was at, so I bought it, realizing that the antenna for XM and Sirius (now that they have joined companies), was interchangeable.

The antenna fit perfectly into my satellite radio, however, the reception of this antenna was inferior to the reception to my previous Sirius antenna. The 'bars', indicating signal strength, are usually only 1 out of 3 (rarely 2) and the signal, frequently cut out, even in very 'open-sky' areas.

Conclusion:

The reception was unreliable and sporadic. I would not buy this brand of antenna again.

Terk Amplified Indoor AM/FM Antenna (PIB) Review

I live in what is called a "fringe area" on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We have a handful of local FM stations, but the best radio is just 50-90 miles north in Hampton Roads, VA. FM stations that come in well on your car stereo from these areas never seem to make into office and home stereo systems.

The TERK promises to amplify a signal if it's present. I live in a 3 story wood frame house, on top of a 30 ft sand dune, so altitude should be excellent for this type of antenna.The wood frame house should not block FM signals. No dice. 50 kw FM atations 40 miles north (Hertford, NC) and south (Englehard, NC) came in no better on the TERK than on a typical factory supplied dipole. 100KWer's in Tidewater such as WMYK (93.7), with a 1000 ft tower 50 miles north are barely registering on my Sony tuner. These stations come in fine on my Bose Wave and assorted portables. High end systems lack the "sensitivity" of smaller radios when it comes to boosting FM signals, and the TERK can't seem to overcome that problem.

My advice? If you want a solid signal for your high end system, and you live in a fringe area, go with either an outdoor TV antenna, or if possible, mount one in your attic. The FM radio band in wedged right between TV channels 6 and 7, so any outdoor TV antenna will do the trick. If you are confined to an apartment, I have no advice other than "save your money" and try other alternatives.

This Belkin XM home antenna provides about the same signal gain as the original Delphi home antenna, but it is only about 2/3 the size and weight, making it an attractive option for travel.The actual metal plug configuration is, or would be, compatibile with all my various XMSR configuations here.Here comes the "but:"

In typical corporate bonehead style, Belkin has chosen a 90-degree plug for its antenna, whereas the original Delphi home antenna uses a straight plug.Why would they do that?My Delphi XM2go home dock has plenty of room for the right-angle plug, so maybe that's as far as they looked, it fits in there in a sorta snazzy-looking way.It also fits my Delphi SkyFi home dock, although barely (for the same reason), as well as my Altec Lansing inMotion iMX2 mobile speaker system for the XM2go.However, it does *not* fit into my Delphi portable boom box for the Delphi SkyFi; that unit has a cylindrical black collar that extends well above the actual jack, and although the actual plug is surely compatible, the Belkin F5X003's 90-degree plug housing will not extend far enough into the collar to reach the jack.Real dumb.Otherwise, I'd probably have given it four or maybe five stars.

TRAM 1620-HC 8-Ft VHF Marine Antenna Review

Over all quality seems to be good, but it would be easier and a better installation if the connector (PL259) were left off allowing you to feed the wire through a small hole. Once routed you could install the connector for a neat installation. The antenna seems to work well but I still haven't completed the installation because I intend to cut the connector off then feed the wire through and install a new connector.

XM Satellite Radio Antenna Headphones for Xm2Go and Helix Receivers Review

The Belkin headphones for the XM Inno are an improvement over the built-in Inno antenna and the a noticable step up from the MyFi clipon antenna.I've found that I can get signals with the Belkin antenna in places that I could never have with either of the above.

Unfortunately, the headphones in general are best described as airplane-quality.You can get a bit better bass if you lean them back in your ears, but in general the sound quality is awful and the comfort worse.Compared to the noise isolating headphones that come with the Inno, they're a disaster.

What I'm surprised no one has posted on is that there is a workaround: use both the headphones that came with the Inno and the Belkins...the former to listen to your radio, the latter to use as an antenna.Turns out connecting the Belkins doesn't actually shut off the output to the headphone jack, but they still serve as an effective external antenna.The Belkins don't stay on your head particularly well without being in your ears, but you can wear them around your neck instead and get substantially better reception.

Incredibly poorly designed product, but as an antenna I can't argue with it.Should have been included with the Inno like the clipon was with the MyFi, but such is life.

"Little Wil" Wilson CB Magnet Mount Antenna Review

Pros:
- Very strong magnet attaches firmly to the vehicle
- Narrow whip poses little wind resistance (see importance in the text below)

Cons:
- Nothing compares to the 102" whip (any junk CB station will sound like the most expensive electronics work of art with a 102" antenna, but a whip of this length is not feasible on a regular passenger car).

This antenna is reasonably long for a four-wheeler (passenger car), and still not too long for low ceiling garages and similar spaces.

The truck drivers have been my best friends from the moment I realized how helpful they can be on the CB radio waves and nowadays mainly for security reasons I refuse to drive on a highway without a CB station. I have a number of them and a number of magnet mount antennas.One of them was almost as long/high as this one, but was wider and had a weaker magnet, so one very windy day while I was driving quite fast on the highway the wind blew it off my roof (and kept me wondering for 10 seconds how on earth it can hail on a sunny day, till I stopped and saw that the antenna was hanging by the wire and flipping left and right across the roof of my car).After that experience I used a much shorter, about 10" antenna which can never be blown away, but its reception and transmission abilities are pitiful.Little Wil antenna has the best value for me because of its combination of length, magnet strength and narrow profile for low wind resistance, and its thin and very flexible whip can get through even lowest garages.

Cobra HHROADTRIP Compact Handheld CB Radio Review

I purchased two of these units for our emergency "go" kits and regularly carry one in the truck.

I like the size and features where you have both CB and weather channels, the hot swap between services is handy as is the CB channel 9/19 hot key.The noise filter does work and gives better reception under some conditions.

Some limits I've found: The antenna designed for use with the unit in CB hand held mode limits communications to under a quarter mile line of sight in my case and the magnetic vehicle antenna will go about half a mile.I'm looking for a better mast antenna for the vehicle.

The weather channel reception is comparable with my scanner.

One thing that I didn't realize when I purchased the radios, and this would have made a difference to me, the A/C charging adapter is NOT part of the package and must be bought separately so if you want to stay off of the battery charger merry-go-round I recommend buying the charger when you buy the radio.Be aware also that the power cord provided for use in a vehicle does NOT charge the radios batterys.

What I really don't like and almost caused me to return the radios: These units use 9 - "AA" batteries, I purchased 18 rechargable batteries - about 5 bucks each, I hadn't purchased the chargers with the radios and ended up buying the biggest stand-alone battery charger I could find locally, all of the chargers I found work in paired sets and mine handles 8 at a time, so 9 is a real pain.

I have two home units and a car kit for my Xpress EZ Unit.I purchased this third antenna to make my car unit completely portable from my main car to secondary cars that I drive on trips.This antenna can also function not only as a Home Unit Base, but a mobile car base.I used it on a 500 mile trip with a xm sure connect fm unit and this did not miss a beat picking up a signal.It is nice not to have to run a car antenna out and stick it to the roof in a vehicle that I'm not going to be in very often.Definate essential for XM enthusiest.

Kaito AN-200 Tunable Passive AM Antenna Review

I had a 100 foot long wire AM antenna previous to the Kaito, and it produced terrible interference and crosstalk on many stations. This Kaito antenna totally cured the problem. The stations come in without interference, and I am able to receive some stations that the long wire would not pull in. It's a minor inconvenience to have to rotate and tune the antenna for each station; the results are worth it. My only complaint is that the lead in wire is very short, about 3 feet. I extended it with a stereo headphone extension cable from Radio Shack, and it works fine, even with the extra length. Amazon must have sorted out the shipping packaging since the last reviewers commented.I received my antenna in a large box with plenty of padding.The antenna wasn't bent.However, the dimensions of the antenna are wrong... It's much longer than 21 inches, and so I wasn't able to install the antenna on the roof of my truck.Hence I'm giving it 4 stars, rather than 5.I've installed it on my pickup, but at the front of the truck.

Directed Electronics 14120 Ultra Low Satellite Radio Car Antenna Review

I got this antenna with my radio about a year ago with my Sirius radio. Last Jan it started cutting out intermittently, and finally just stopped working completely. It was past the 1 year warranty on my radio so I went out and bought a new one. One month later, same problem. Reception goes down, then finally stopped completely. Bringing my home antenna out to the car and plugging that in works fine, but this car antenna doesn't anymore. Seeing a 1 -year warranty advertised here on Amazon, as well as almost every online store that sells this, I call Sirius about it. It turns out that this antenna does not actually carry a warranty, Amazon is wrong. Also looking at forums online, it appears that a very, very large number of people are having the exact same problem, some going through 4 or 5 antennas per year. My advice? Avoid this antenna like the plague. Other Sirius antennas don't have the same problem, just this one.

Again, to reiterate, Amazon is incorrect. This antenna DOES NOT CARRY A WARRANTY! Caveat emptor.
