SWR METER for CB Radio Antennas with 3' Jumper cable Review

SWR METER for CB Radio Antennas with 3' Jumper cableI bought this to tune in my new install, the meter was banging the side on all channels indicating a problem, I returned the antenna and got a replacement and had the same problem. Tech support suggested this meter was bad, I spent a little more money and bought a different model from Radio Shack to compare and it was a totally different ball game, I had the antenna tuned in five minutes and have had no problems. I would recommend spending a little more money and saving a whole lot of frustration.

SWR METER to Test CB Radio Antennas - Workman - New Review

SWR METER to Test CB Radio Antennas - Workman - NewThe FWD and REV switch was upside down, I noticed it after making silly mistakes by cutting my whip too short. I was trying to cancel my order but seller did not return my e-mails, that is the only reason I removed two star other that that the seller is great. Quick delivery.

TRAM NH-4-M5-HC Base-Loaded 5- Inch Magnet-Mount CB Antenna Review

TRAM NH-4-M5-HC Base-Loaded 5- Inch Magnet-Mount CB Antennaok performance, but the protective layer is not put on completely centered leaving exposed metal (I have recieved 2). I got a number of scratches on my trunk. I believe that I will order a k30 or k40. I am using some electrical tape to provide protection in the interim, hopefully the adhesive doesn't run in the sun.

BROWNING BR-28 High-Performance Broad Band 63- Inch CB Antenna Review

BROWNING BR-28 High-Performance Broad Band 63- Inch CB AntennaThis is Tim Owner of Snake Radios Incorporated. It is a very well made product and as a radio tech i approve it and reccomend it. You need to get a mirror mount for it or a magnet mount that will support it. A good quality 5 inch magnet mount. Easy to adjust and match the anntenna to the transmitter. You may have to shorten the stinger or radiator depending on you installation and how much ground plain is under it or how much metal.

"Little Wil" Wilson CB Magnet Mount Antenna Review

'Little Wil' Wilson CB Magnet Mount AntennaPros:
- Very strong magnet attaches firmly to the vehicle
- Narrow whip poses little wind resistance (see importance in the text below)

Cons:
- Nothing compares to the 102" whip (any junk CB station will sound like the most expensive electronics work of art with a 102" antenna, but a whip of this length is not feasible on a regular passenger car).

This antenna is reasonably long for a four-wheeler (passenger car), and still not too long for low ceiling garages and similar spaces.

The truck drivers have been my best friends from the moment I realized how helpful they can be on the CB radio waves and nowadays mainly for security reasons I refuse to drive on a highway without a CB station. I have a number of them and a number of magnet mount antennas. One of them was almost as long/high as this one, but was wider and had a weaker magnet, so one very windy day while I was driving quite fast on the highway the wind blew it off my roof (and kept me wondering for 10 seconds how on earth it can hail on a sunny day, till I stopped and saw that the antenna was hanging by the wire and flipping left and right across the roof of my car). After that experience I used a much shorter, about 10" antenna which can never be blown away, but its reception and transmission abilities are pitiful.Little Wil antenna has the best value for me because of its combination of length, magnet strength and narrow profile for low wind resistance, and its thin and very flexible whip can get through even lowest garages.

Product Description:
Why the Wilson "Little Wil" Performs Better The "Little Wil" uses Wilson's exclusive low loss coil design and is patterned after the proven performance of the Wilson 1000 and 500. The "Little Wil" out performs all similar types of small base loaded antennas. It was designed specifically for users who want a high performance antenna with a short whip, at a low price. The Wilson tradition of designing an antenna that offers maximum efficiency for the cost is continued with the "Little Wil". The Large 10 oz. Magnet used in the "Little Wil" is the first indication of the attention to detail, engineering, quality and design that makes the antenna perform so well. The strength and holding power of the larger magnet will prove itself the first time extra speed is needed to pass the auto ahead, or on those rough and bumpy roads. The "Little Wil" hangs on long after other small antennas have fallen off and become lost and wasted money. Wilson uses 14 gauge wire to provide the maximum power handling for a small antenna. When combined with Wilson's exclusive coil winding method that allows air to flow completely around the wire, its maximum power handling is approximately 300 watts. With it's total height of only 38", when mounted on the trunk lid of most automobiles, you can safely drive into your garage without damaging the antenna or the car from the overhead door. When driving into those multi-level parking garages, at the office or shopping center, you no longer must remove the antenna. If your looking for a low cost, high quality antenna with a low profile design, the "Little Wil" is your solution.

Cobra HG A 1000 Base-Load Small Mount 100W CB Antenna Review

Cobra HG A 1000 Base-Load Small Mount 100W CB AntennaAmazon must have sorted out the shipping packaging since the last reviewers commented.I received my antenna in a large box with plenty of padding. The antenna wasn't bent. However, the dimensions of the antenna are wrong... It's much longer than 21 inches, and so I wasn't able to install the antenna on the roof of my truck.Hence I'm giving it 4 stars, rather than 5.I've installed it on my pickup, but at the front of the truck.

Cobra HG A 1500 Base-Load Medium Magnet Mount 300W CB Antenna Review

Cobra HG A 1500 Base-Load Medium Magnet Mount 300W CB AntennaThis came properly packaged in a large cardboard box (no problems with damage in transit).I inserted the antenna whip into the base and tightened a set screw with the enclosed allen wrench. The magnetic mount held the antenna securely in the middle of the roof of our van.The cable was sufficiently long to run from the antenna, through the rear hatch door seal, down to the floor of the van, along the floor to the front seat where it attached to a cb radio.Since I did not have an SWR meter, I was not able to adjust the antenna.Even so, I was getting a good mile radius around me where I had solid radio contact (this is from a Cobra hand-held CB).Antenna stayed firm on the roof even though I was driving 70mph for much of the time.We got into some freezing rain which formed a layer of ice around the antenna (and that hurt transmission), but did not cause any damage to the antenna.
