Tune Trapper Hidden Car AM/FM Stereo Radio Antenna With End Cable Review

I did not expect much from this antenna, I got it simply because it was the only option in my application. I installed it in the body of my '23 T street rod behind the seat about 20' from vertical. In a metro area with lots of stations, it has no problem picking up whatever I want with little interference. Despite the low mount, unshielded hot rod ignition, and everything working against it, it performs quite well. It also seems sensitive enough to pick up distant stations when traveling.

This is the original Tune Trapper Antenna that has "wow'd" customers since it's introduction in 2004. Mount anywhere in any position in any vehicle. Requires no power, no amplifier, no ground and is guaranteed to work. Allows you to do away with ugly whip or glass mounted antennas on your street rod, custom, truck, rv, boat, or any vehicle. This end-feed AM-FM antenna is ideal for mounting between a headliner and roof with the cable routed down the window post trim, under a dash, or in a trunk. Mount vertical or horizontal. The Tune Trapper no ground plane design works well in all vehicles including fiberglass cars, boats, rv's, where a good ground plane is non-existant. In steel, only a minmum clearance (1/2"), which the center mount provides, is required. Most vertical whip antennas are a 1/4 wave ground plane. The Tune Trapper is a full 1/2 wave helical dipole wound with many feet of sensitive mag wire for optimum reception. Each TT is hand tuned to the FM frequency band 87.5-108 MHz. All connections are soldered. The antenna is sealed in a unique flexible pvc housing - is dirt/water resistant - and will last a lifetime. The center mount is fitted with double side tape for secure attachment. The TT comes with 6 feet of 95% copper braid shielded coax cable to eliminate EMI noise from wipers, fans, motors, etc.. and is terimnated with a standard Motorola connector to plug directly into your radio. The antenna is 24" long x 1/2" diameter. Hand Made and Individually Tested in the USA. Radios already have sensitive pre amps built in - they're just looking for a properly tuned antenna to make them rock!

TRAM NH-4-M5-HC Base-Loaded 5- Inch Magnet-Mount CB Antenna Review

ok performance, but the protective layer is not put on completely centered leaving exposed metal (I have recieved 2). I got a number of scratches on my trunk. I believe that I will order a k30 or k40. I am using some electrical tape to provide protection in the interim, hopefully the adhesive doesn't run in the sun.

BROWNING BR-28 High-Performance Broad Band 63- Inch CB Antenna Review

This is Tim Owner of Snake Radios Incorporated. It is a very well made product and as a radio tech i approve it and reccomend it. You need to get a mirror mount for it or a magnet mount that will support it. A good quality 5 inch magnet mount. Easy to adjust and match the anntenna to the transmitter. You may have to shorten the stinger or radiator depending on you installation and how much ground plain is under it or how much metal.

Monster Cable MSR-ANT-HM Sirius Home Antenna Review

I had been searching for something to help with my poor Sirius reception at home. I was very excited when I found the Monster Cable MSR-ANT-HM Sirius Home Antenna, it seemed like the perfect answer. It wasn't. The bottom line is it is exactly the same as my stock "non-premium" antenna. Same size, same reception. I had 3 bars signal strength with my old antenna and 3 bars with my Monster antenna. The only difference is the word "Monster" on the front. If you are looking for help with poor reception I suggest you look elsewhere, this antenna is NOT the answer.

American International XM-2SAA XM Roof-Mount Antenna Review

This is a universal satellite radio antenna (universal in the sense it will work with either Sirius or XM satellite car radios).

I had to replace my antenna for my Sirius satellite radio as the cord had cracked and was no longer acquiring a signal. This XM version was the only one available at the store I was at, so I bought it, realizing that the antenna for XM and Sirius (now that they have joined companies), was interchangeable.

The antenna fit perfectly into my satellite radio, however, the reception of this antenna was inferior to the reception to my previous Sirius antenna. The 'bars', indicating signal strength, are usually only 1 out of 3 (rarely 2) and the signal, frequently cut out, even in very 'open-sky' areas.

Conclusion:

The reception was unreliable and sporadic. I would not buy this brand of antenna again.

Kaito KA35 Solar Rechargeable AM/SW/LW Active Radio Antenna Review

I live in SE Wisc. and listen to Chicago AM on Sangean ATS-909. On some stations,I get 1/2 bar signal strength without the Kaito ant.When I plug it in and turn it on, I get full signal strength.I haven't tried SW yet but will just to see how it works and some night time AM dxing. This item works very good. CONS: it only runs on batteries. It has two states; ON or CHARGING.
